Medical examiner releases name of dead man

Late Thursday afternoon, the King County Medical Examiner’s office released the name of the dead man found in Lake Sammamish earlier this week.

John D. Allan was found floating in the lake by a Redmond woman walking along the shoreline in the 3800 block of 175th Avenue Northeast late Wednesday morning.

The cause of death is still pending and the results won’t be available for another 6-10 weeks, according to the medical examiner’s office.

I checked with Jim Bove, spokesperson at the Redmond Police Department, and he said there were no missing persons reports that matched up with Allan’s identification, so as why or how the man was dead in the lake remains a mystery. Bove did say the man lived in Redmond, “not far from where he was found.” In addition, Redmond Police “don’t suspect foul play” and there were “no signs of trauma,” Bove said.

Speaking of mysterys, check out the murder update on Arpana Jinaga that I wrote earlier this week. Redmond Police detectives are still searching for suspects and working closely with the King County Prosecutor’s Office to develop a solid case.
